Event description

Description

Discover all the techniques that have been used for centuries to make your bounty last over the winter! Learn which foods are best for drying, fermenting, pickling, or smoking, using the harvest from our farm. You will be surprised how long foods can be kept, even without refrigeration! A great way to improve sustainability and self-sufficiency, this course also builds awareness of where our foods come from and how not to waste them. Take home a selection of herbs used in historic food preparation.

Location: Lippitt Farm House

Class Fee: Members $70, including lunch and all materials. Non-members $80, including lunch and all materials.

Requires advance registration, limited to 6 participants.

Please bring an apron or comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty.
