Pauline Downey, AXIOM Area Director of Programming, has been involved in the fitness industry since she started teaching 'Aerobics' at the age of 19! She has worn many hats since that day, to include certified Group Exercise instructor, certified personal trainer, wellness coordinator, but her passion has always been Group Exercise! Certified in many different formats, her love for fitness and helping others to have fun and achieve their fitness goals was always a top priority. Directing teams of Group Exercise instructors is where her involvement has been for the past 25 years. She joined the AXIOM family, previously GOLD'S GYM in 2003 and has tripled not only the variety of class formats, but definitely the size of the team to lead them! Pauline thrives on seeing what she and her team can do, to help the AXIOM members continue to strive to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Caroline Messerschmidt is a registered dietitian at St. Luke’s Medical Center who loves sharing her joy of healthy cooking with others. Caroline believes that good health starts in the kitchen and that vegetables can be added to just about any recipe. When Caroline is not in the kitchen, she is outside playing in the foothills or skiing in the mountains. Nothing beats the inspiration Caroline gets from a long, hard trail run and all the ideas that surface along the trail.

A former lifelong educator and passionate home cook, Chef Joan decided to pursue her interests in cooking, food, and health in 2011 when she enrolled in the Natural Foods Chef program at Nutrition Therapy Institute In Denver, CO. She founded The Intentional Kitchen after graduating, with the mission of teaching others about the joy of time spent in the kitchen, providing instruction on planning and preparing delicious, simple plant-forward meals, and sharing her passion for eating and living well.
