Description

Celebrate Spring with Heifetz! Join us Sunday afternoon,April 28th for the first-ever performance by the Heifetz Institute, the highly regarded string instruction program and accompanying festival located on the campus of Mary Baldwin University in Staunton, VA.

The concert will take place in the freshly-refurbished auditorium of the Highland Center, sitting atop Highland County in Monterey, Virginia. Founded by virtuoso soloist and pedagogue Daniel Heifetz, the Heifetz Institute is known for its Heifetz Performance and Communication Training a unique approach to music training, education, and presentation.

The program will be a fresh array of inspiring works by Bach, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Mark O'Connor, and more, featuring three dazzling 2018 alumni from the Heifetz Institute: Violinist Ria Honda, cellist Dominic Lee, and pianist Jingxuan Zhang.

Performances to include:

  • Jenő Hubay, after Georges Bizet: Carmen Fantasy
  • Manuel De Falla: Ritual Fire Dance
  • Mark O'Connor: F.C.'s Jig
  • Felix Mendelssohn: Piano Trio in D minor, Op. 49

Tickets are just $10 and will be available at the door at the Highland Center.
