Before the war of 1812, militia musters were not just for drilling—they were social opportunities for men and women alike. Linigle’s Company of Ohio Militia, the First Regiment of Rifles, and the Second Regiment of Kentucky Volunteer Militia will join Heritage Village Museum for an 1803 event that will include drilling, civilian demonstrations, and hands-on activities. Come and celebrate the year Ohio became a state!

This is the third year Heritage Village Museum has hosted this event—we look forward to new reenactors joining us! The event is held in our village of 13 nineteenth-century buildings inside Sharon Woods Park. Although conveniently located just inside 275, the surrounding park buffers us from modern intrusions.

Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sunday: noon to 5 p.m.

Amenities:

  • Actual rest rooms
  • Convenient water tap
  • Although dinner will not be provided this year, we are close to restaurants of all price levels (LaRosa’s, McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Chipotle, etc.)
  • Plans are in the works for Linigle’s Company to offer an officer’s school—let us know if you are interested.
  • The public and reenactors alike are invited to a tea each day in the afternoon.
  • Sutlers are being recruited. If you are an interested sutler, or know one we should contact, please contact us! (Sutlers may not register on this form.)

PARKING: Sharon Woods charges a daily parking fee to visitors who do not have the year's Great Parks sticker on their cars. Heritage Village has paid that fee for reenaactors only--tell the kiosk worker that you are part of that group when you arrive.

There will be no charge for reenactors who register before April 16. Reeanactors who walk-up to the event will be charged regular public admission (see link above). Please wear appropriate Regency/Federal-era clothing—if you have any questions, please call (513) 563-9484 or e-mail info@heritagevillagecincinnati.org
