Tailored to our youngest gardeners (ages 2 and 3), we invite you to connect with your little one to explore the wonder of nature through hands-on work and play in the garden, in Garden Buds. Together, you'll harvest garden produce, create botanical crafts, and share stories and songs.
Each child must be accompanied by only one adult. Please, no siblings, unless you have a second adult to accompany. This program is all outdoors and masks are required for all participants.

Schedule: Six weekly sessions available | Fridays OR Saturdays OR Sundays, 9:30am OR 11am
Cost: $200 Non-Member / $180 Member
Sign up for one weekly day and one 1-hour time slot:
WEEKLY DAY (six days total)
- Fridays, April 21, 28, May 5, 12, 19, June 2*
- Saturdays, April 22, 28, May 6, 13, 20, June 3*
- Sundays, April 23, 29, May 7, 14, 21, June 4*
*Programs pause for Memorial Day Weekend, on Friday 5/26, Saturday 5/27, and Sunday 5/28.
TIME (one-hour duration)
- 9:30-10:30am each day OR
- 11am-12pm each day
More Information:
- Garden Buds is held almost entirely outdoors in the Children's Garden and under the covered gazebo, which serves as protection from rain.
- The program runs rain or shine. Only in the event of cancellations by QBG due to extreme weather, do we host a make-up day, typically the weekend following the final session.
- There will not be make-up classes for absences due to sicknesses.
- Masks are required if we are to go indoors, and are encouraged while outdoors, especially during the program.
- If driving, you may park with a $5 discounted parking rate.
- QBG reserves the right to cancel the program due to unforeseen circumstances. In the event that it is canceled, you will be fully refunded the program fee.
- QBG is dedicated to providing the best possible learning environment for our students. If your child requires any accommodations please email kidsprograms@queensbotanical.org.
- If you qualify for the Family-Level+ Member discount (see below), please remember to apply the "MEMBER" discount code upon checkout.
Health & Safety
- Vaccines are strongly encouraged but not required.
- Masks are required for all if we are to go indoors, and are strongly encouraged while outdoors, in close proximity to other participants.
- If you or your child are showing symptoms of sickness, please do not attend.

Cancellations
During inclement weather, we will bring the group under cover and indoors and do not plan to cancel, unless weather is extreme. In the rare case that an event is cancelled, you will be notified via email. Please note, programming will be conducted outdoors in light to medium rain, with outdoor shelter from the rain. Only in the event of cancellations by QBG due to weather do we host a make-up day, typically the weekend following the final session.
Refund Policy
We have a no-refund policy within 30 days from the program start date. If you must cancel after registering, notify the Kids Programs staff at 718-886-3800 x218 or kidsprograms@queensbotanical.org at least 30 full days before the start of the program and we will refund 75% of the program cost.
Refunds and credits are not issued for partial attendance or after the program begins. Registrations are nontransferable.
There will not be make-up classes for absences due to sicknesses.
Discounts
Members with Family Membership* and above receive a 10% discount by using the code "MEMBER".* Siblings can receive a 5% discount by using the code "SIBLING". No discounts may be applied after your transaction is processed. If you qualify for both, please reach out to us before purchasing.
*For QBG Family-Level+ Members only. You will be prompted to enter your Member ID # at checkout to verify eligibility for discount.

Donate
Help families in need by donating to our Scholarship Fund! We suggest a $20 donation, but gifts of any amount can make a difference to welcome these families in our nature programs. Please note that donations do not go toward your registration fees. We thank you for your generosity!
Garden Etiquette
QBG staff strives to provide a place of peace, beauty, and safety for the quiet enjoyment of our visitors. QBG is a living museum, a collection of gardens for the study, culture, exhibition, and display of plants. By purchasing tickets and attending QBG events, you hereby opt in to receiving communications from the Garden. You may receive updates about future QBG events and news through the addresses you provide. If you do not wish to receive future communication, simply click the “unsubscribe” button at the bottom of an email or write to info@queensbotanical.org.
Getting to QBG
By public transportation, take the number 7 subway line to Main Street, the Long Island Rail Road (Port Washington line) to Main Street/Flushing, or the Q44-SBS or Q20 bus. For driving directions and more information, please visit our website.
Parking
On-site parking is available the Parking Garden, located at 42-80 Crommelin Street, Flushing, NY 11355, for a discounted rate of $5 per vehicle. For regular parking fee information, please check our website or call 718.886.3800.
