Spring Data Science Foundations Program presented by The Data Incubator

Join The Data Incubator for a part-time online class that teaches the foundations of data science. This course is geared towards giving working professionals with no previous data science experience an immersive, hands-on experience with foundational data science techniques.
Classes will be held from 7-9 PM ET on the following 16 days:
4/11, 4/13, 4/18, 4/20, 4/25, 4/27, 5/2, 5/4, 5/9, 5/11, 5/16, 5/18, 5/23, 5/25, 5/30, 6/1
The deadline to register is 11:59 PM ET on 3/30/17
The course will be focused on the following essential data science skills:
Manipulating and Analyzing Structured Data
Programmatically Working with Differently Formatted Data and Messy Unstructured Data
Efficient Coding Leveraging Advanced Programming Concepts
Understanding Noisy Data: Probability and Statistics Fundamentals
Predicting the Future: Fundamentals of Modelling
Accurate Modelling: Understanding Non-normal Distributions
Previous experience manipulating data in spreadsheets (experience with macro programming a plus)
Some college-level mathematics

About the Instructor:
Jim Schmitz, CFA, studied mathematics and computer science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and earned a master's degree in mathematics and finance from New York University. He has worked in the financial sector for over ten years in a variety of positions ranging from equity options trader to quantitative programmer.
