All sessions are appropriate for ages 17 and up, and welcome all skill levels and cultural backgrounds! WALK-IN'S are welcomed and no one will be turned away!
DURING THIS THIRD CYCLE, LP21's masterful teaching artists and learned traditional musicians and performers share with students the nuances, diversity and beauty of the infectious musical genres from Puerto Rico - Bomba & Plena.
CLASSES WILL HOST DANCE, DRUMMING AND SINGING, giving everyone a chance to learn the three sides of these musical styles!

The Bomba & Plena Community Workshops - a family and community cultural arts school and learning program - offered by NYC's Bomba & Plena Ambassadors to the world, LP21, since 1989, has grown every year throughout its nearly 30 years of history.
Originally launched as a children's music and dance learning series, the BPCW launched its ADULTS component in 1997, offering dynamic, engaging and unique sessions for adults of all ages, skills and backgrounds the intricacies of Bomba and Plena techniques, skills, practices and approaches in percussion, vocalization and dance.
Taught by LP21's master practitioners and versed educators, the Adults classes has fostered and opened the world of Puerto Rican cultural arts learning to hundreds of individuals!
Can't join us for all 5 weekends? No worries, stop when you can, as each class session welcomes walk-ins!
