Event Details

Dig out your binoculars (or borrow a pair) and open your eyes to the wonderful world of birds with JRC's very own Judy Pollock, former Director of Bird Conservation for Audubon Chicago Region. This spring our birding group is going to try something a little different - a field trip! In order to see our regions' rarest birds, you have to travel a bit. We should see grassland birds like bobolinks, meadowlarks and dickcissels that are hard to find closer to home. The site also has wetlands, woodlands and shrublands - a bird paradise! As an added bonus, the Forest Preserves of Cook County are having a birding Big Year competition between preserves and Judy and her team the Birdocrats have adopted Paul Douglas - so we will become team members and our sightings will add to the totals.

This program is limited to 15 participants
For JRC members (adults and children) 8 years and up
