Description

The Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art Association is hosting a day bus trip to Dallas, Texas February 17, 2018! Trip attendees will visit the Dallas Museum of Art as well as the Kalita Humphreys Theater.

The group will depart at 7:00 a.m. from the Lloyd Noble center in the NE corner at the intersection of Imhoff and Jenkins. Once in Dallas, we will experience artist Yayoi Kusama’s All the Eternal Love I Have for the Pumpkins, one of her signature Infinity Mirror Rooms, at the Dallas Museum of Art. This is the first mirror pumpkin room created by Kusama since 1991, and the only Infinity Mirror Room of its kind in a North American collection.

FJJMA has reserved 30 spots for this unique exhibition, which will likely sell out. Attendees will have a private, fully immersed 45-second experience inside the temporary installation.

Lunch will be provided at the Dallas Museum of Art.

After lunch, we will enjoy a matinee performance of Frankenstein, adapted from the novel by Mary Shelley, presented by the Dallas Theater Center. The performance will take place at the Kalita Humphreys Theater, the only freestanding theater building designed and built by Frank Lloyd Wright. A brief tour of the building will follow the show. All costs for the trip are inclusive, and transportation to our destinations and back from Dallas will be provided.
