Description

The Spring 2019 Housing4Hoosiers Tenant/Landlord Education Series offers a wealth of tips about rights and responsibilities for renters, property managers, and property owners.

These events are free and open to the public but advance registration is required. Space is limited. Sign up today!

Please note: There are two workshops being offered in this series. You may register for both or select one. All participants will receive a certificate of completion

Workshop 1: Thursday, February 28 - 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

  • Life of a Lease: The ins and outs of renting

  • Tenant-Landlord Conflict: How landlords and tenants can use mediation and avoid going to court

  • Evictions: Everything you need to know about the notification and court process

Workshop 2: Thursday, March 7 - 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

  • Energy Efficiency: How to reduce the high cost of living

  • Safety & Security Tips for Your Rental

  • ABCs of Pest Control (Ants, Bedbugs, and Cockroaches)

  • Repair and Maintenance: Rights and Responsibilities for Landlords and Tenants

1. What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Public transit: Most city buses go by the library on Kirkwood. Check Bloomington Transit for route information.

Parking:

  1. The library parking lot provides free, 2-hour parking for library patrons.

  2. E. 6th Street and Lincoln Street (across from the Monroe County Public Library)

  3. Metered on-street parking is available on most streets around the library. Meters accept quarters and credit card payment.

2. Are there accommodations for people with disabilities?
