Description

Virginia Wing Cadet Programs Presents...

a Drill and Ceremonies Instructor School and a Non-Commissioned Officer Academy:

The Drill and Ceremonies Instructor School and a Non-Commissioned Officer Academy (DCIS & NCOA) will be held at Raptor Town, Langley Air Force Base on 21-23 APR 2017.

The intention of Drill and Ceremonies Instructor School is to bring the perfection, discipline, and FUN of drill to cadets. In CAP today it is easy to forget the experience and value that drill and ceremony should bring to the Cadet Program. At DCIS students will learn proper technique, terminology, common mistakes to avoid, the fun of a well-called jody, the art of innovative drill, as well as a love and appreciation for drill. They will be trained on the mastery of the skill and method of instruction of these techniques in order to return to their squadrons to be Drill and Ceremonies Instructor assets. In this manner the Wing becomes standardized in Drill and Ceremonies per CAPP 60-20.

The intention of the Non-Commissioned Officer Academy is to teach cadet NCOs the critical skills they need for developing their mentoring, teamwork, and leadership skills. NCOA students will get real world chances to interact with serving NCOs from the U.S. Armed Forces, team up with others on practical and theoretical leadership challenges, and develop partnerships to begin lifelong leadership excellence.
