KATERI FARRELL: Kateri Farrell is a flutist, singer, and songwriter currently based in Nashville, TN. At age 6, she began singing in church and taking piano lessons. When her family moved to South Minneapolis a few years later, she began learning flute and found a natural ability for the instrument. Kateri studied flute through college, focusing on classical and jazz while keeping very active playing and singing in various groups in and outside of school before moving to Nashville.
Locally, Kateri is a member of the soul power group The Jason Eskridge Band and leads her own project going by her artist and birth name, ‘Kateri’. Her sound is a blend of jazz, soul, r&b and funk which reflects some of her greatest musical inspirations such as Norah Jones, Corinne Bailey Rae, Lianne La Havas, Herbie Hancock and jazz flutists Hubert Laws, Herbie Mann and Bobbi Humphrey.
