The brainchild of our host Jack Dunlap (of Bud's Collective fame and local bluegrass royalty), this series focuses on two different prominent local musicians each session with a supergroup band backing the featured artists. Each session features different accomplished artists making these showcases incredibly unique one-night-only collaborative events that you absolutely do not want to miss!

For the next showcase in this series we will be featuring Ceili Galante and Mike Gaumer (of Old Town Flood)!

CEILI GALANTE

Hailing from Frederick, Maryland, Jazz vocalist Ceili Galante is a pathway student with Holland College School of Performing Arts in Prince Edward Island, Canada, and the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. During her time at Holland, Ceili was invited to sing with the PEI Symphony Orchestra, SoPATones, the Welshman Jazz Band, and represent her college at various affairs- as a freshman. Ceili has had the opportunity to create the jazz band 50 Dollar Trio, with whom she has pioneered the first recording session Holland College has ever had in their new recording facility: the SoPA Garage. Ceili plans to obtain her bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance and her master's degree in Music Education.

MIKE GAUMER

Mike Gaumer grew up in Pennsylvania and was introduced to bluegrass music as a kid attending a festival near his hometown of Nazareth, PA. His sources of influence stretch from the country music greats of the late 80s and 90s, to current bluegrass stars who have modernized the sounds of Monroe, Flatt and Scruggs into the blend of country and bluegrass heard today. He is the founder of Old Town Flood and resides in Baltimore, MD.

HOST: JACK DUNLAP BAND

FACEBOOK | WEBSITE

Jack Dunlap is the mandolinist for the trio Bud's Collective, but has also worked along side past and present members of Mountain Heart, Audie Blaylock and Redline, Dailey and Vincent, Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder, Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen, Blue Highway, Chris Jones and the Night Drivers and Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper, to name a few. Though growing up playing bluegrass music, Jack stretches his instrument into other genres such as jazz, swing, blues, rock, classical, country, Eastern Indian folk music, Celtic, polka and many others. He worked as the apprentice to VA based mandolin legend Danny Knicely through the VA Folklife Program. Knicely and Dunlap recorded the album "Chop, Shred & Split - A Mandolin Player's Apprenticeship" together in 2015. The album went on to win Best Bluegrass Album of the Year at the Washington Area Music Awards (WAMMIES).

An ambassador of music, Jack Dunlap has made a bee-line for success. When he is not playing onstage, he is playing offstage.

At the age of 24, Jack is already endorsed by Fairbuilt Guitars, Carey Mandolins and Eastman Guitars, is a hand- chosen apprentice to the legendary Danny Knicely and is the music director for Cacapon River Arts.

He teaches privately all around the Shenandoah Valley. Always forging ahead, Jack blazes his trail with the aid of the influences from Sam Bush, Eric Clapton, Chris Thile, Joe Walsh and other musical greats.

BE SURE TO BRING YOUR APPETITE!
