Ardra Bio Inc.
Ardra is a synthetic biology start-up targeting natural cosmetics, and flavour and fragrance industry. Ardra’s technology uses synthetic biology to develop biocatalysts for production of specialty chemicals from natural and renewable raw material. Their platform technology, based on designer pathways, allows Ardra to rapidly develop easy-to-scale-up processes with high yield, thereby bringing down the production cost of natural ingredients.
Biotagenics is a clinical microbiomics company developing therapeutics and companion diagnostics for the management and treatment of diseases associated with microbiota dysbiosis, with an initial focus on Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Biotagenics is identifying therapeutic targets that have the potential to restore symbiosis and modify the course of the disease. Our therapeutic strategy is based on precision targeting of the microbiome using our validated recombinant antibody platform.
Finding the genetic causes of disease has been described as trying to find a needle in a haystack. DNAstack’s mission is to develop cutting-edge technologies that help scientists discover and treat the causes of genetic diseases. NerveVision is an FDA (510k) cleared, medical imaging software platform for visualizing nerves in 3D from a standard MRI acquisition. This “disruptive” technology enables a Physician or Surgeon to see the nerve(s) path, integrity as well as areas of inflammation – assessing the nature of the problem prior to performing any treatment or surgical procedure. It addresses the Diagnostic, Pre-Surgical Planning and Minimally-Invasive surgery markets.
Tracery is a clinical stage ocular imaging and health tech company focused on Age Relate Macular Degeneration and blinding eye disease.

JLABS @ Toronto
JLABS, part of Johnson & Johnson Innovation, is a network of life science incubators providing emerging companies many of the advantages of being in a big company, without the capital investment. JLABS offers singular bench tops, modular wet lab units and office space on a short-term basis, allowing companies to pay only for the space they need, with an option to quickly expand when they have the resources to do so. Companies residing at JLABS also have access to core research labs hosting specialized capital equipment and shared administrative areas. JLABS is an open innovation model, and the agreement for space does not grant JLABS or Johnson & Johnson Innovation any stake or rights in the companies, nor will the companies have a guaranteed future affiliation with JLABS. The flagship facility is located in San Diego at Janssen's West Coast Research Center, and JLABS has now two established locations in San Francisco - one through a collaboration with the California Institute for Quantitative Biosciences (QB3) and a second standalone facility - one in Boston through a collaboration with Lab Central, one in Houston through a collaboration with TMC, and one in Toronto through a collaboration with MaRS.
