Description

Sports Massage 101 is a massage therapy class provided by the American Sports Massage Academy for 8 (eight) CEU's. This massage therapy continuing education course will provide and introduction to sports massage therapy. Participants will learn what Sports Massage Therapy is, and how to incorporate into their skills as a practitioner. The majority of this course will be hands on, with participants learning how to assess, locate, palpate, and treat soft-tissue in Sports Massage Therapy. This course is intended for practitioners who want to increase their knowledge and skills of sports massage therapy and is the introductory course to Sports Massage 201: Advanced Sports Massage Theory and Technique.

American Sports Massage Academy (ASMA) ™ is committed to providing high-quality and accessible education to massage therapists. It is their mission to advance and strengthen the field of massage therapy within healthcare.

Instructor: Amanda Lundstedt, BSBA, LMT, is the founder and owner of Active Edge Sports Massage in Central Iowa, a multi-therapist private practive specializing in sports massage therapy. Her education includes a BSBA from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, Body Wisdom Massage School in Urbandale, Iowa, Parker Chiropractic University in Dallas, TX, and The CORE Institute in Boca Raton, FL. An avid athlete herself, Amanda credits her experiences as a runner and triathlete as a part of her success as a sports massage therapist. Amanda currently trains with Zoom Performance in Clive, Iowa.
