Loyola University New Orleans PRSSA chapter is proud to present to you their Regional Conference on sports and entertainment here in the Big Easy! We will be hosting a variety of professionals from the local area who work in the sports and/or entertainment industry and they will be sharing their experiences on how they master public relations in their field of work and how they got to be where they are today.

New Orleans is a vibrant city filled with culture, food, and music which is why people from all over the world come here for a unique entertainment experience whether its for a concert, Mardi Gras, or cheering on New Orleans sports teams such as the Saints, Pelicans, and Baby Cakes.

Our Keynote address will be given by Augusto Rojas, General Manager for the New Orleans Baby Cakes, formerly known as the Zephyrs. He will be sharing his experience on what the re-branding process has been like as the team was just recently re-named the Baby Cakes this past fall of 2016. His insight will give conference attendees a first-hand look on the importance how to use public relations and communications in the sports world, specifically minor league baseball, when faced with the many challenges that come with creating a new team identity. We are very lucky to have him speak to us and we look forward to seeing you all there!

Hotel and Block Pricing:

The Hampton Inn Garden District will be offering a special block pricing deal until February 8, 2017. It is located on St. Charles Avenue in the historic Garden District along the Streetcar Line. Block pricing is available for 3/10-3/12 with rooms with King or Double Queen beds for $249 in total.

Cost of Attendance (lunch is included):

$50 per person

$40 for Loyola Students (will require proof of student ID at the door)

$25 for high school students (will require proof of student ID at the door)


Sign in will be from 8:00 a.m. - 8:20 a.m. in the Danna Center on March 11, 2017.
