Event description

Spokane's Chapter of The Well Armed Woman meets the second Friday of the month. Meetings are open to ladies age 18 and older. Membership is NOT required to attend a meeting — this allows ladies an opportunity to experience the chapter before officially joining.

Monthly meetings focus on a variety of topics related to self-protection and all things firearms. The November meeting topic will be announced during the October meeting.

Meetings are divided into two parts -- 6 pm - 7:15 pm is the classroom instruction, and 7:15 pm to 8 pm is the live-fire range time.

In order to participate in live-fire range events ladies must complete four steps: 1.) become a member 2.) attend a meeting and observe the live-fire range time 3.) complete a live-fire firearm course from an NRA certified instructor (we can offer suggestions in our area) 4.) complete our chapters Range Procedure Certification (also known as "chapter orientation").

See details about Range Procedure Orientation at the bottom of this listing -- information is also available at

The monthly meeting fee is $20 and it includes the range fee, targets, handouts, training equipment, etc.

25 spots are available for each meeting and in order to ensure safety, provide adequate seating, and handouts, online paid registration IS REQUIRED for meeting attendance.

Registration opens two weeks before the meeting date and registration is completed by purchasing a "ticket" through this EventBrite listing.

Registration ends when the available spots are filled via online registration OR registration ends at 2pm on the day of the meeting.

Because we DO NOT have the ability to process registrations or handle monetary transactions at meetings, those who have not registered online cannot attend the meeting.

We welcome you to bring a friend with you to meetings and if you do, either register for your friend or make sure that your friend has registered online.

Online registration is required to be able to attend the meeting. Please double-check your calendar before registering as registrations are non-refundable.

What to bring to monthly meetings:

eye & ear protection

100 to 150 rounds of ammunition

2 or 3 magazines

unloaded pistol(s) with the action(s) open -- (the pistol needs to be in either a hardsided case or a soft fabric case (rug)

Spokane's Chapter of The Well Armed Woman is an all-volunteer run group and we have been working hard to provide exciting and informative meeting topics.

It looks like 2017 is going to be a great year ----- tactical emergency casualty care, firearm safety in the home and around children, pre-attack indicators, range night with Glock (visit from our area Glock rep), reloading and cast bullet demonstration, stages of an attack, are just some of our 2017 meeting and event topics.

If you have any questions, please email

Please plan ahead --due to the number of inquirys we receive, we do our very best to reply to meeting related emails, calls, and texts within 24 hours -- but sometimes it takes us longer. The good news is -- we meet again next month! :)

In order to ensure a safe shooting environment, we have developed an orientation process that everyone must complete before participaing in live-fire range activities.

During the Range Procedure Certification (orientation), a facilitator will introduce us to and walk us through various topics related to firearm safety, range safety, safe firearm transport, and range procedures so all shooters have the same knowledge base.

During orientation, ladies will have one-on-one time with chapter facilitators to ensure that all of their questions are answered and that they have the knowledge and skills to feel comfortable participating in range activities.

Topics Covered During the Range Procedure Certification: sign-in process for meetings; how to transport your firearm to meetings following range guidelines; how to set-up the target stands, targets, and shooting lanes; safe locations for gear placement and gun-handling on the range and in the classroom; open-bay range procedures and commands; role of the Master Range Safety Officer & the Table Range Safety Officers; range tour (proper function of ventilation fans and filtration, backstop and bullet trap, how to safely enter and exit the shooting bay); emergency procedures; cease fire procedures; firearm safety on the rangea brief pistol-handling exercise; basic marksmanship demonstration using an inert training pistol; and safe range hygiene.

At the March meeting, the Range Procedure Certification/Orientation was offered during the meeting and all attendees completed the Range Procedure Certification. Henceforth, the Range Procedure Certification orientations will be held approximately every three months and we plan to hold the next orientation in October.

Range Procedure Certification/Orientation dates and times will available on the Kaery Concealed website and on the Women's Division page of the Spokane Rifle Club website.
