Event description

Description

This is the first Spokane Capture the Flag Competition! The goal of the competition is to allow students to compete in a fun way, while learning about the security field. Because of this goal, we are bringing in professionals from around Spokane to judge and give help to the participants. We are trying to set the bar low; even if you have no experience with computer security or hacking, you are still encouraged to come! There will be two different leagues: one for beginners/want-to-learners and the experienced league. In the want-to-learners league, contestants can ask for help on a challenge at anytime, giving them the ability to learn at their own pace. The goal should be to learn as much as possible, not to simply win the competition. To assist with the learning Intrinium, members of the Spokane Security Coalition and Risk Lens will be assisting throughout the competition. And, of course, there will be free lunches and snacks for the contests. This competition has been sanctioned by the mayor as the Cyber Cup of Spokane.

The competition itself will be a combination or attack/defense and wargame challenges. The categories will range from software (native and web) challenges to cryptography to social engineering, with lots of fun jokes in between these.

Want to compete? Want to help out or sponsor? The more the merrier! Please contact Maxwell Dulin (dulinmax0@gmail.com) or find my website at http://maxwelldulin.com.

We will be making a separate registration page for teams to signup at. But, signing up here will also work. If you sign up here, please contact us with the information above too. Cheers!
