Spirit Strength (noun): the inner power that each woman inherently possesses to define her own life, her own eating habits, and her own body.

Do you struggle with the diet rollercoaster? Feel like you have failed from "falling off the wagon" again and again? Have you tried multiple diets, only to lose weight and regain it? Do you pick apart your body, looking for flaws and comparing your body to others? Do you feel that if only you could have more willpower around food, you'd be enough? If only you could gain control of how you eat, you'd be loveable?


This workshop is for women who want to find their own strength, break free of dieting forever and create a new relationship with food and their body.

It will bring together three different practices to help you re-write the story you tell yourself about eating, food and your body. It is not a workshop to teach you what to eat, or how to lose weight. This workshop will help you find freedom around food and start to respect and love your body for how it is RIGHT NOW.


These practices are:

1) Equine guided coaching, provided by Horse & Heart Connection, to help you get clear in your communication, quiet your mind, and connect with your heart by working through specifically designed activities with horses. You don't need a diet, a cleanse, an exercise program, or a "lifestyle change" to be good enough.

**These exercises are on the ground (no riding), and previous horse experience is not required - basic safety instructions will be provided to all participants, no matter their experience level.

2) Gentle yoga and guided meditation to develop the connection between the mind, body and spirit. These practices allow us to come back to ourselves and get in touch with our true intuition - a link that is often broken when engaging in dieting, and which is virtually impossible to establish when body image is poor. Your body is just right as it is right now.

**The yoga is adjustable to every body and will be taught by certified yoga teacher Alycia Two Bears.

3) Investigating the unconscious stories we tell ourselves about how we eat, what eating and food mean to us, and what we tell ourselves about our bodies. We will learn to be kind and gentle to ourselves and start to unlearn some of the lessons that taught us that our bodies needed to be changed and our eating needed to be controlled in order to be "good". We will begin to learn another way of relating to our bodies and food.

**These lessons will be taught by Rachel Hamilton, a student of Intuitive Eating and a recovered disordered eater and compulsive exerciser.

COST: $125 until August 15. After that, the price will go up to $150.

FAQs

Is this workshop open to everyone?

At this time, the workshop is only open to people who identify as women. Stay tuned for future events that will be for male-identifying humans!


What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Once your registration is received, you'll get an email with more details, including how to get to Spirit Winds, just outside of Cochrane, AB. There is ample parking onsite.

What's the refund policy?

No refunds unless the event is cancelled by the organizer, but your tickets can be transferred to another person.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Yes.


Do I need horse experience?

No. Basic safety instructions for working with horses will be provided to all participants and Marilyn is accustomed to working with people with all levels of horse experience.


Do I need yoga experience?

No. Alycia is able to teach to all levels of experience and adjustments and modifications will be provided to ensure the practice is accessible to everyone.


Is this event weather dependent?
No. This event will go forward rain or shine - we will move outdoor activities indoors in case of inclement weather.


What should I bring?

-Food - including lunch, snacks and water.

-Clothing you can move in - appropriate for walking through a rural outside area and doing yoga. Bring a jacket in case of wind or cold weather, sunscreen and a hat in case of heat, and bug spray.

-A yoga mat.

-Closed toed shoes - VERY IMPORTANT. You will not be allowed to work with the horses if you are not wearing closed toed shoes.


Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes, as long as we have received notice that the ticket has been transferred to you by the original purchaser, or has been purchased for you by someone else.
