Description: Spider Meadows is a long beautiful meadow between Glacier Peak and Lake Chelan. The hike in is 6.5 miles (13 round trip) with 1900' of elevation gain. Expect to cross lots of streams and see fields full of mountain flowers. Dinner and breakfast will be provided. Please let the leader know if you have a high clearance vehical and are willing to drive (the road in is rough). This should be a good first backpack expereience if you have ample day trip expereience. Can't wait to see you on the trail!


Difficulty: Medium

Meeting Place: Greenlake Campus

Start Time:  7/13 7am

End Time: 7/14 6pm


Required Gear:

-Hiking boots/shoes (waterproof or non-cotton socks)

 -Backpacking pack

 -Water (2 liters min)

 -Lunch for Saturday/snacks for both days.

 -Non-cotton layers

 -Extra pair of clothes and socks

 -Headlamp or flashlight

 -Coat for at night


 -Sleeping bag and pad



  Tent (optional)

 -Sleeping pad and sleeping bag


Highly Recommended:

 -Camp shoes/sandles

 - Insect repellant

 - Hat and gloves

 - Collapsible trekking poles or ski poles

 - Camera

 - Extra clothing to change into for the ride home
