Speedlights 101 with Matt Anderson
Sunday, April 14, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM (CEST)
Thank you very much for registering for ViewFinder's "Speedlights 101 with Matt Anderson" workshop on Sunday April 14th. Here is some information to help you prepare and get the most out of the workshop.
Time/Schedule: Our course will begin promptly at 9:00 and will end at 17:30, taking a break for lunch at 12:15.
Location: Please be aware that ViewFinder's classroom location is in Winterthur at the following address: Else Züblin-Strasse 115, 8404 Winterthur. A map link can be on this page which will help you locate our building. If you're coming into Winterthur by train, we advise you to take the S12 (direction Seuzach) to the Oberwinterthur train station. Our studio is just a 5 minute walk from the station.
Lunch Break: We have a reservation for the group at Gerry's Italian Restaurant (across from our studio) at 12:15 and you are very welcome to join us there for lunch. If you have special dietary needs, then please feel free to bring your own lunch with you.
Course Format: We will be working on a foundational understanding of flash settings and flash exposure. We'll spend the morning in the classroom as we absorb the necessary theoretical information. We'll then put our new knowledge to work - and each student will have the opportunity to test their new skills and explore the priciples of "modifying" the light from their flash. Weather permitting, we'll do some outdoor shooting near the studio. Otherwise we may choose to shoot in the studio. Please check the weather forecast ahead of time and dress comfortably.
Equipment: You are responsible for bringing your own camera, lense(s) and memory card. If you already own a flash - bring that as well. We will have a handful of strobes, light stands, modifiers, and triggering devices on hand for students to work with. Please be sure to charge your battery before the course and clear off enough space on your memory card.
Course materials: We will provide each participant with a handout that highlights the essential points which we cover in the course. You can take notes on the handout if you wish, or bring a notepad.
Thanks again for your registration. We look forward to seeing you on the 14th of April!
