The Speculative Sundays Poetry Reading Series presents the creators of speculative poetry, the poetry of possibilities online, live via Zoom.
Adele Gardner has had over 400 works of poetry/music, short fiction, art/photography, and nonfiction published in assorted venues such as Deep Magic, Daily Science Fiction, Strange Horizons, Legends of the Pendragon, The Doom of Camelot, PodCastle, Pedestal Magazine, NewMyths.com, American Arts Quarterly, The Cape Rock, Dreams & Nightmares, Women in Science Fiction and Fantasy, and more.
Her first poetry collection is Dreaming of Days in Astophel (2011). Her awards include first place from the Poetry Society of Virginia; third place (both Long and Short) in the Rhysling Awards; and third place in the Balticon Poetry Contest (Baltimore Science Fiction Society). Two stories and a poem earned honorable mention in The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror (St. Martin's Press). She’s a graduate of the Clarion West Writers Workshop and a member of the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America, Horror Writers Association, Sisters in Crime, Mystery by the Sea (Southeastern Virginia Chapter of Sisters in Crime), Science Fiction and Fantasy Poetry Association, Poetry Society of Virginia, and Hampton Arts League.
She holds a master's in English literature (emphasis in creative writing and Victorian Literature) from Old Dominion University, an MLIS from Florida State University, and two-thirds of an associate's in Photography from Thomas Nelson Community College.
