Saturday, March 21: Several half-day and full-day workshops to choose from. Lunch on your own at a nearby location within walking distance.

Sunday afternoon, March 22: Leadership Day discussion with an STC update by STC president Ben Woelk.

Sunday evening: Dinner, networking awards.

Monday, March 23: Keynote speaker Kirk St. Amant, "Dynamics of Cognition, Usability, and Design." A full day of presentations, progression sessions, demos, and lightning talks. Continental breakfast, afternoon refreshments. Awards luncheon at midday. After-conference party in the evening.

Don't miss Spectrum 2020!

Network with colleagues, build skills, and learn about the latest trends and opportunities in the expanding spectrum of technical communication. You'll hear from leaders in the field and emerging experts, talk with suppliers of key products and services, renew friendships, and make new friends as well.

New this year

Workshops are on Saturday with lunch on your own. Speakers and Spectrum staff do not need to register. To attend two half-day workshops, purchase two tickets. Find descriptions in the Spectrum pages on the chapter website. Register for each part of the conference separately. You will find menus on the Spectrum registration page. Registrations received after March 13 will not be included in the headcount for breaks and lunch.

Notes

Canadian registrants, please pay in U.S. funds. If you are registering more than one person in the same fee category, you can select multiple quantities for the ticket.

STC Rochester Chapter

Founded in 1958, the Rochester Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication is based in upstate New York. The chapter is geographically diverse, with many members in the metropolitan Rochester area, as well as members throughout the region and in many areas of the US and Canada. The Rochester Chapter of STC serves the needs of its members by promoting professionalism and the exchange of information among members, providing educational opportunities for both members and non-members, and educating the community on the value of technical communication.

Members include writers, editors, graphic designers, business owners, managers of corporate publications, educators, and students. STC is a worldwide professional organization devoted to the advancement of the theory and practice of technical communication.

Members provide a wide range of technical communications services in a variety of industries, such as computer hardware and software, photographic imaging, medicine and health care, telecommunications, community service, and education.

Spectrum 2019 marked the 60th anniversary of the Rochester Chapter annual conference, the longest-running chapter annual conference in STC and the longest-running conference of its kind in the area.

In recent years, the Rochester Chapterr has been recognized with many awards from the Society for Technical Communication, including Platinum Community in 2016-2019, Community of the Year in 2018-2019, and Pacesetter in 2017-2019.
