Specialized Communications Training for Police and Prosecutors
Hosted by the ASU Police Department, this is a brand new, day-and-a-half training workshop for criminal justice professionals who must communicate during the most critical times.
For those who hold communications and leadership roles in police and sheriff’s departments, as well as those in the offices of prosecutors and attorneys general. We will cover best practices in media and community relations, innovative ways to release your news and get it read and shared, hosting press conferences, and how to control your message in media interviews. We will use case studies of high-profile police-involved incidents in our discussion.
Course instructor is Anne E. Schwartz, a 26-year veteran reporter, former Director of Communications for the Milwaukee Police Department, and the Wisconsin Department of Justice.
