Event Details

This is a workshop to extend computer science instruction beyond the Algorithms and Programming concepts typically covered in a Code.org Computer Science Fundamentals (CSF) course.

Audience:

  • K-5 teachers and para-educators
  • Participants should have taken the CSF workshop and/or have comparable experience teaching coding.

Topics will include:

  1. Use of floor robots (e.g., Code & Go Mice / Bee Bots),
  2. Digital citizenship lessons from Common Sense Education to address Impacts of Technology concepts
  3. Planning and supplementing Code.org CSF curriculum to satisfy the MD Computer Science Standards for K-12.

This is a hands-on workshop, so bring a laptop. Access to a curriculum guide for a subject you teach will be helpful. A 30 minute-break will be provided for lunch. Lunch is on your own.

If your plans change, please cancel your registration with at least one business day's notice.
