Nowadays, it seems parenting can be more challenging than ever. In addition to teaching the traditional challenges of the past—accomplishing chores without complaining, acquiring proper table manners, picking up after oneself—we now face a world awash in information technology and persistent efforts to capture our children’s attention around-the-clock. When we were children, protecting our innocence meant our parents keeping us from glancing at not-too- subtle tabloids at the checkout counter of the grocery store. Today, social media’s pervasive presence attacks our children’s humanity at almost every turn.
At what age is it OK for a child to have a cell phone? How much should parents know about what their children are doing on social media such as Instagram and Snapchat? What do we need to know, and do, to boost the odds that our children will be happy and fulfilled and experience genuine joy?
If you find yourself asking these types of questions, please block time on your calendars for Wednesday, March 1, from 7:00 – 9:00 pm, when we will be hosting an educational event for Atlanta Classical Parents featuring nationally- known author and speaker and physician, Dr. Leonard Sax.
Dr. Sax is a family medicine physician, psychologist, and author of 4 best-selling books on education and parenting, including his most recent work, The Collapse of Parenting (2016).
He has been a guest on the TODAY Show, Fox News, National Public Radio, PBS, and many other national and international media. His articles have been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, and the web site of The New York Times, among many others.

Please plan to attend this highly informative and worthwhile presentation for Atlanta Classical Academy parents.
