Description

Hello Everyone,

On Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 4:30pm, we are holding a parent/teacher interest meeting for those wanting to learn more, and do more with Special Olympics Virginia during the school day and outside of the school hours.

Special Olympics VA provides year round sports trainings and athletic competitions in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with and without intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Virginia – Richmond City Program offers several sports such as Flag Football, Roller Skating, Soccer, Volleyball, Bowling, Ice Skating, Track/Field, Aquatics, Bocce and sports activities for our Young Athletes (ages 2y-7y).

Special Olympics is not just nice, not just charity, not just sports; Special Olympics is important; Special Olympics makes invaluable contributions to the lives of those with and without intellectual disabilities that extends well beyond sports. Special Olympics VA spans beyond school and the community, it is WORLDWIDE!!

This meeting is to address Special Olympics Virginia’s desire to build stronger partnerships with the community, exceptional education teachers, general education teachers, administrators, parents, students and volunteers.

We will give tours of the newly renovated Special Olympics VA office and provide light refreshments. We look forward to seeing you on January 24th, as we build partnerships and grow Special Olympics VA in the City of Richmond.
