Description

THE MINDFUL ACTOR and THE THEATRICAL AWARENESS PRACTICE

The Theatrical Awareness Practice (TTAP) is a somatic and experiential theatrical practice used to train artists and create live performance. This practice consists of deeply researched and highly structured improvisational explorations that are designed to reacquaint the artist with the infinite intelligence and creative capacity of their own human body experience.

As well as being a method of training TTAP is a concrete way in which to physically manifest and explore some of the more theoretical elements of live performance: The Experiential Loop; Artist as Content, Practice as Performance, Interpretation in the Moment and Receptivity versus Response.

The Theatrical Awareness Practice is used to train live performers working in a wide range performance forms and styles including: Drama; Musical Theater; Opera; Dance (Modern, Post-modern, Contemporary); Experimental Theater and Performance Art.

The Theatrical Awareness Practice is the corner stone of Vince's work as a teacher and director at The Cincinnati Conservatory of Music where he holds the position of The Joseph Weinberger Chair of Acting for the Lyric Stage in Musical Theater & Opera.
