Description

In honor of Erasmus Darwin Leavitt Jr.’s 183rd birthday, participants will be allowed to access the upper levels of the 1894 Leavitt-Reidler pumping engine, a National Mechanical Engineering Landmark. After a brief slideshow highlighting Leavitt’s remarkable life and achievements, presented by the Museum’s Director, visitors will be able to walk in, on, under, and around, the only surviving example of Leavitt’s amazing work. Docents will be on hand to answer questions. This is a ticketed event limited to 20 participants. $10 per person
