About this Event

This year’s convening Speaking Truth | Summit X will take place from November 14-16 at The Great Hall, Cooper Union, and satellite venues across New York City, the city where it all began. Join us to celebrate the seminal figures that have taken the Summit stage over the years, speaking to projects that have addressed and impacted real issues in our contemporary world, as well as hear from new voices that are continuing to do this work today! Ultimately we will be convening to ask: CAN SPEAKING TRUTH TO POWER UNRAVEL THE AGE OF DISILLUSION WE FIND OURSELVES IN?  Read more about Speaking Truth | Summit X on our website.

The Creative Time Summit is an annual conference produced by New York-based arts nonprofit Creative Time. Established in 2009, the Summit was created as a response to a demand from artists and practitioners working beyond the traditional art market, many of whom were intervening in areas of civic life, politics, and media. The first Summit convening presented a critical range of perspectives and provided strategies for social change. Since then, it has grown to be the leading conference at the intersection of art and social justice.

As organizers, we are committed to accessibility and have continuously worked to remove barriers for attendance at the Summit while moving towards a more sustainable conference model. We want to be transparent about our efforts to find a balance between accessibility and sustainability.

What does the cost of a pass go toward, and why pay more?

Creative Time puts 100% of ticket sales towards the expenses of organizing the conference, in addition to our own production budget. These funds allow us to pay speakers' fees, travel, lodging, venue hire, AV support, live-streaming around the globe, marketing, promotional initiatives, and paying our advisors.

We calculated the actual cost per person of producing the Summit, which is reflected in the True Cost pass of $303.00. However, we prioritize accessibility, and have established passes at lower price points, and in some cases, for free. Your purchase of a Summit pass supports the work of those on stage, fellow attendees, and conference organizers.

We invite you to review the ticketing tiers and select the amount that matches your means.

What if I can’t afford to pay at all?

We don't want to turn anyway away due to lack of funds. We have a few ways to receive a complimentary pass.

In celebration of our 10 year anniversary, 10% of our passes are free for the community. If none of our sliding scale ticketing tiers are a good fit for you, email us at summit@creativetime.org

Consider becoming part of our team as a volunteer in exchange for a complimentary pass. It takes a village to produce a Summit, so if you would like to consider volunteering at the Summit in exchange for a pass, please register to volunteer!

What if I can’t afford to travel to attend?

Many Summit attendees successfully secure external funding to cover the costs of attending the Summit. We are happy to provide a letter of support to help with your funding efforts. Get in contact if you'd like our assistance.

The Summit also meets thousands of attendees in their hometowns through livestream and satellite screening sites. To date, it has been broadcasted in over 150 locations, from Dhaka to São Paulo. Please email us if you are interested in setting up a screening in your town.

The Creative Time Summit is an international conference and has reached new audiences through partnerships with organizations outside of NYC, in Stockholm, Venice, Washington DC, Toronto, and Miami. Sign up for our newsletter to stay in the know about where we are taking the Summit next!

All passes give you access to Summit programming from 14 - 16 November, unless additional registration is requested.

Sorry, no refunds. Note that our schedule and speakers are subject to change. This information will be announced via email to ticket holders and on our website.
