Event description
Join us for an afternoon with Professor Jabari Asim as he reads from his latest book "We Can't Breathe".

About this Event

This event is sponsored by the Emerson College's EBONI Alumni Association, as part of our Black History Month programming/celebration. Professor Asim will be reading from his book, followed by a moderated discussion about his career.

From Professor Asim:

I write from two impulses: the first is to indulge my curiosity, to use a book as a convenient excuse to explore in depth a subject that I want to learn about. The second is to set the record straight: to add my voice to the chorus of resistance that forms a counter-narrative to the prevailing myths about the ethnic group to which I belong.

*PLEASE NOTE: Professor Asim will be signing copies of his book at this event. You will need to purchase the book ahead of time and bring it with you, if you'd like to have it signed. You can purchase the book here: http://jabariasim.org/portfolio/we-cant-breathe/.
