Being a member of Speaking for Ourselves is an experience of a lifetime. Join us and be a part of something big!

Speaking for Ourselves is an independent grassroots, self-help/self-advocacy organization run by people with developmental disabilities.

Our purpose is to help our members run their organizations, develop leadership skills through real-life experiences, learn to work together collectively to address their own issues, and increase their own self-sufficiency and independence.

Speaking for Ourselves began in February 1982 and has been assisting to empower others, pass legislation, and supporting all people to speak for themselves. We are 40 years strong and continue to uphold the beliefs of our founders.

    Please practice physical distancing during this event.

    We encourage masking if you are unvaccinated against COVID-19.

    If you are more comfortable masking overall, please do so. We want every person to feel at ease.

    If you are feeling unwell prior to the event / the morning of, please do not feel you must attend & can certainly get in touch to cancel your registration.
