Event description

Description

For this Orange County Advisors in Philanthropy (OC AiP) Speakers Series program, four panelist, Douglas Circle, Pamela Coehn, Eleanor Tang, and Dr. Emily Young, will share insights on how philanthropy can be used to create a meaningful legacy for the family and how families navigate philanthropic impact and family engagement.

Legacy planning is a process, a journey, a way of thinking. It considers long-term planning about what “family wealth” really means. At its best, it is a collaborative effort encouraging open discussion with trusted advisors and family members. Integrating philanthropy as a family value can strengthen the family and build engagement and involvement across the generations. Join us as we hear stories of real-life legacy planning and impact.

Douglas Circle has had an unique and full business career in the field of agriculture, processed food, finance, real estate, packaging, purchasing, personnel recruitment, as well as overseas sourcing of products. Of equal importance has been Mr. Circle's involvement with community service, charitable owrk, and his active participation in church administration.

Pamela Cohen has 25 years of experience in the nonprofit, philanthropy, and education sectors, advising individual clients, families, and foundation directos on legacy planning and design and execution of their philanthropic strategy.

Eleanor Tang is member of the Board of the Kay Family Foundation. The Kay Family Foundation, in collaboration with other strategic partners, serves as a pioneering hub of innovation to create a more harmonious and prosperous world through the facilitation of time, talent and treasure in such pivotal venues as faith and values, education, training, medical and healthcare, as well as, arts and culture.

Dr. Emily Young is Executive Director of The Nonprofit Institute in the University of San Diego’s School of Leadership and Education Sciences. She has spent over 20 years in various positions in philanthropy and higher education.

Lunch and valet parking are included in the registration fee. The Presenting Partner for this OC AiP Speaker Series event is First Foundation Bank.
