Cider Corps is your host for a celebration of life. Cider Corps founder, CEO, and Purple Heart recipient Jason Duren will give the opening remarks for what will be an unforgettable night. 22 Jumps founder and CEO Tristan Wimmer will be the emcee for a truly collaborative effort to move the needle in developing testing and therapeutic solutions for those suffering from traumatic brain injuries (TBIs).
Dinner for the evening will be a special collaboration between Cider Corps and Lauren Allen Dinners featuring pairings from:
- Dom Ruggiero (USMC Veteran) — Vanilla Gorilla, Hush Public House, Fire at Will
- Adam Allison — Handlebar Diner, Brightside Burgers
- Nick Bahan — Lauren Allen Dinners
- Brent Kille — Sonoran Pasta
- Myke Olsen — Myke's Pizza
Speakers include two representatives of Cohen Veterans Bioscience (CVB) — Nicole Bjorklund, Ph.D. and Maryan Zirkle, M.D. — who will present "Advancing Solutions for Brain Trauma from Theory to Therapeutics". CVB is a world leader in utilizing big data techniques to develop testing and therapeutics for TBI and PTSD. Eric Johnson, M.D. [Lt. Colonel, USA (Ret.)] serves as the third speaker and will present his journey from US Army private to Lieutenant Colonel JSOC surgeon supporting worldwide Tier 1 operations. Titled "Dirtbag to Doctor: One Surgeon's Story", Eric's presentation will be unvarnished and insightful.
Music is brought to you by Operation Encore and includes performances by Stephen Covell and JB Brown. Stephen Covell is a former combat medic in the 82nd Airborne and won Operation Encore’s 2019 songwriting competition with “Her Cold Hands”, which was selected for 33 international film festivals and has won several awards. JB Brown is an up-and-coming singer/songwriter and medically retired recon marine.
All proceeds during the night will go to 22 Jumps — a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that utilizes BASE jumping as a fundraising platform to support the development of short-term and long-term TBI solutions. 22 Jumps was established in 2020 in memory of SGT Kiernan Wimmer, the founder's brother and fellow marine. Kiernan suffered a massive TBI in Al Anbar, Iraq in 2006 and his quality of life deteriorated over the next nine years until he took his own life in 2015.
Attire for the night is business casual and capacity is limited to 80 individuals. Doors open and music starts at 6 p.m. Speakers begin at 7 p.m.
