Event description

Description

The fashion industry can be ugly. For the past 15 years, the world’s clothing production has doubled, leaving dirty footprints on our planet. The big question iswhat is the fashion industry doing about this? The answer, according to fashion journalist Anna Blom, is that there are actually many forward-thinkers and innovators pushing the agenda for a clean fashion industry forward.

Join SACCNY at Gateway on April 1 for an inspiring Breakfast Seminar with Anna Blom, who has years of experience within the fashion industry, and learn more about how people around the world are changing the industry from the inside, one jumper at a time. Hear about exciting initiatives and get advice on how you can work towards a more sustainable, closed-loop fashion industry.

ABOUT ANNA BLOM

Anna Blom has worked as a fashion writer since 2005, both in Sweden and in the U.S. She has written hundreds of fashion articles for both newspapers and fashion magazines and been a guest on Swedish national TV, speaking about fashion trends.

Today, Anna freelances for various publications and brands within fashion and design, such as IKEA, Göteborgsposten and Svenska Dagbladet. A journey to Shanghai with Global Change Award (awarded by the H&M Foundation) woke her interest in circular fashion. “After that trip, I felt that if I were to continue working in fashion, I wanted to better understand the industry's challenges and opportunities, which is what led me to learn about circular fashion. It’s an ongoing process!”
