****Due to the overwhelming interest in this year's event, registration and the waitlist for the 6th Annual Women's Leadership Conference are now closed.****
Please join us for the 6th Annual Women’s Leadership Conference hosted by the Rutgers Women's Leadership Coalition and the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy. The 2017 conference, “Speak Up, Speak Out: Advocating for Yourself and Others," will highlight tactics professional women use to raise their voices in high stakes environments.
From storytelling in the Middle East, to grassroots community organizing, to voicing your ideas in the boardroom, this year's conference will help you find your voice by providing tools and skills to advocate for yourself and others. Panelists will discuss threats to emergency services used by women and families in distress, while workshops will teach attendees how to navigate politically and socially diverse workplaces and how to organize for change.
The day will conclude with a networking social from 3:00 - 5:00 pm at INC American Bar & Kitchen at 302 George Street.
Admission is free, but space is limited. The event is open to the public, however, graduate students at Rutgers University will receive priority registration if the event reaches capacity. Donations of high efficiency laundry detergent are requested on behalf of Dina's Dwelling, a local New Jersey non-profit providing permanent supportive housing to survivors of domestic violence and their families
About Dina’s Dwellings: The Town Clock Community Development Corporation recently converted part of the First Reformed Church of New Brunswick into individual apartment units for survivors and their children. Assisting those impacted by domestic violence is integral to the church's mission and has its roots in a 1970s fire set by a man whose partner had sought refuge in the church. Dina’s Dwelling continues to give shelter and support to survivors by providing safe, affordable permanent housing and supportive services to assist survivors on their path to healing and rebuilding healthy lives.
