Event description

Description

Spatial visualization skills (SVS) often lack in students, especially girls. The lack of SVS directly impacts a student’s success in courses such as engineering, math, chemistry and physics. Our grant, funded through the Idaho STEM Action Center, involves training 10 middle school and high school teachers from our region in SVS. The teachers would

travel to Lewiston for a ½ day training on June 21, 2017. Teachers would receive a stipend of $100 at that time. Then, this fall teachers would provide the 10-week curriculum in their classroom. A pretest and post-test would be utilized, as well. After testing data is received, teachers will receive an additional $150 stipend.

The training includes video modules, visualization cubes, and a classroom set of curriculum.

There are only 8 slots left. Please contact Traci Birdsell right away if you are interested!
