SPARTANS - The most respected warriors in history - hands down! They are renowned for their strategy, spirit, unity, skill, power and most importantly their superior overall fitness. Of course, the training principals and methodology have evolved since then. Regardless, if you train you should still possess balance of power, strength, stamina, energy, agility and cardiovascular endurance.
With this we present you the next Spartan Challenge vol.6 "Honor & Glory"!
SPARTAN CHALLENGEis once again upon us and we would like to extend an invite to Fitness First club BTC Manama to send their strongest warriors / athletes / members to compete in this gruelling challenge.
Spartan - Vol 6. has been put together to push you beyond the limits of so called "mental and physical limitation".
This year we will be working in teams ( 4 Warriors ) competing for victory...and each warrior will play an integral part in either.........VICTORY OR DEFEAT!!!!!. All Sparta expects is your 100% effort and commitment.
This workout is unlike anything you have experienced!......What can you expect?? An amazing personal achievement and deeper understanding of yourself through hard work, unconventional training methods which faded out over the years or have been replaced by modern gadgets.
We are dumping you deep into the blend of unconventional and conditioning training where all the elements of fitness are pushed to the max in each segment. Embracing this format of training is a real challenge due to its speed, stability, execution and overall rhythm...and team work
You might be an amateur athlete or seasoned pro...this course "may" still brake you!!

Release: BTC Spartan vol.6 "Honor & Glory" workout series
The course is composed of 10 stations. Each team member will be tackling two and some three stages. One stage will require all four team members participation. The objective of the challange is to finish the couse " fast ". This course is a relay format. Each team member completing designated stages will be required to tag a fellow team member starting following stages. This is very important to remember!
Stage 1 - Rowing - Fastest 1000 m row
Stage 2 - Farmers Walk - Covering 20 laps without rest ( both, male and female will carry 50% of their body weight) There will be 5 soconds penalty for every break ( weights drop).
Stage 3 - 20 Wall balls - fully squatting with the ball and thrusting it upwards against the wall at the designated marker ( male will work with 10 kg and female with 8 kg ball)
Stage 4 - Hold - A static 90 seconds hold with the pay load ( 80 kg tyre with exatra 40 kg load). Its a full team effort, one member per handle.
Stage 5 - 30 Plank Jacks - A minor twist to a popular plank position. The plank will be performed on couple of medicine balls in a push up position instead of a solid ground
Stage 6 - 20 Chin Ups performed on a pull up bar. The chin will have to come over the bar for a repetition to be counted as fully performed.
Stage 7 - Stepper - Fastest 20 floors
Stage 8 - Tyre push - Fastest 10 x 20 meter lengths ( males will be pushing 80 kg and female 40 kg tyre)
Stage 9 - Deadlift - Fastest 20 repetitions ( male 100% and females 75% of body weight payload )
Stage 10 - 40 Box Jumps - Fastest 40 box jumps ( males will jump on red and female blue jump box )
** ( the order of stages may change)
Points to rememember:
1, Every competitor is going to be monitored by an event marshal in terms of repetition count, exercise form, full range of motion, time, correctness of execution!
2, Competitors can’t argue on the marshal count.
3, Each competitor is not allowed to take break during designated 2 or 3 stages. A break will incour penalty points
4, Each team member will be allowed 1 marshall warning per each stage of the challenge before 5 second penalty applies for any additional warning afterwards.
Food intake and hydration before competition:
A very important thing to remember is that you have to be well rested, hydrated and have adequate amount of glycogen stored in your muscles and liver. You will be going through a high intensity training format which will challenge you to the core!
1. To avoid any complications, discomfort and possible dangers don't fuel your body shortly before competition. You will need to have at least 2 meals containing between 65 to 75 % of carbohydrates metabolised at least 2.5 - 3 hours before the event.
2. Allow at least 10 to 15 minutes for proper warmup before entering the pit.
3. Keep hydrated with water at all times. Try not drink too much on one go.
4. Breathing is a key! Breathe properly! You will be briefed on correct breathing techniques before entering the pit.
5. ABSOLUTELY NO enhancers!!! No pre-workout mixes, boosters, artificial or natural.
Remember…being a true Spartan is not by the birth right....but by the fight you put on!
