Microcredentials. Badges. Competency-based recognition. What’s going on with microcredentials and how can the development of ‘badging’ inspire your own growth mindset and professional learning?
Come learn more about this new trend and hear about UW-Extension’s role as part of a nation-wide Consortium exploring how we can make self-directed learning accessible and relevant to learners (and teaching professionals) of all ages.
Andrea Deau is the Information Technology Director at the University of Wisconsin-Extension, Continuing Education, Outreach & E-Learning (CEOEL) and the Co-Director of the University of Wisconsin ADL Partnership Lab where she leads a growing IT organization that supports and develops the technical infrastructure for the University of Wisconsin-System’s Competency Based Education (the UW Flexible Option) and other online degrees and programs for adult learners including the University Learning Store. Before coming to the University of Wisconsin-Extension, she served as the director for academic technology services at Madison Area Technical College managing enterprise learning technologies, mobile and collaboration systems, and learning space technology support.
WiscNet provides research and education networking services to public and private higher education, K12 school districts, libraries, municipalities, and hospitals throughout Wisconsin, and will host this session at their beautiful facility in Madison.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
WiscNet is located at the southeast corner of Research Park. Parking is available for all attendees in the front parking lot of the building.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?
Free registration is open to any educator in greater Dane County and has been provided by generous donors. If you cannot attend, please share your ticket with another educator or notify us at 608.800.2100 so that we can give your ticket to another educator on the waiting list.
