About this event
The complex questions surrounding what board members do, what staff members do, and how they relate to one another are among the most important and challenging issues of nonprofit governance. The overall health of an organization is dependent on a well-functioning and proficient staff. However, the ability for an organization to have a healthy staff depends on leadership, and often, this leadership starts at the very top — its board of directors.
Board training can help a board fulfill its role and make a real difference to an organization's mission, vision and performance. During this session, we will take you through the steps towards a well-performing board and help you explore your own board challenges.
Join us for this half-day workshop providing knowledge and skills to current board and staff members that include topics such as:
- roles and responsibilities of board members
- fiduciary duties
- legal considerations
- meeting and committee management
- strategic planning
- effective leadership development
- fundraising
- and more!
*We encourage a member from your board, preferably a board chair, and the executive director and/or staff member to attend.
Refreshments and lunch will be provided!
