SPANISH-language: Green Industries Best Management Practices
Tue, April 11, 2017, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM EDT
Registration and check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. Class begins at 8 a.m.
This class is designed to provide training in Best Management Practices in Spanish for anyone working in the lawn, landscape, pest control, or municipal grounds areas. Best Management Practices are focused on reducing non-point source pollution resulting from fertilizer or pesticide application.
In Sarasota County, you are required to be certified in BMPs to be able to apply fertilizer commercially. In many areas, to be able to bid on jobs or have commercial customers, you must be BMP-certified.
The State of Florida requires all commercial fertilizer applicators to obtain a Limited Certification for Commercial Fertilizer Application license. Certification in BMPs is required to obtain this license. Applications for the license will be available at the BMP seminar.
Following completion of this training, you will be given a post-test in Spanish to determine knowledge learned. If the post-test is successfully completed, you will be mailed a certificate of completion from the University of Florida.
