Parent Involvement in

The Special Education:

Overview of Rights

Parents learn to identify their dreams and goals for their children and their rights and responsibilities as parents of children with special needs under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Families will gain the knowledge and strategies necessary to be equal partners in the special education process.

Learn to prepare for your IEP meeting, and the laws and advocacy strategies to work collaboratively with your team to help your children reach their goals.

This training will have a special emphasis on collaboration, negotiation skills, and preparing for the IEP meeting. Discussion will include modifications and accommodations for classwork, homework and testing.

Please register so we can send updates and follow-up information
