Event description

Description

Please join the Spartanburg Area Conservancy for our 2017 Annual Membership Meeting, free to all members and friends. Registration appreciated but not required.

The South Carolina Conservation Bank is our state's most important conservation program. Since it was established in 2002, this bipartisan effort has permanently conserved 288,056 acres across the state at an average price of $526/acre. Legislation authorizing Conservation Bank is set to expire in 2018, placing the future of this important program in jeopardy. In 2006, a 28 acre addition to Cottonwood Trail was funded through the South Carolina Conservation Bank.

Our keynote speaker for this event will be State Senator Scott Talley, speaking on the program and its legislative future. Representatives from SPACE and Conservation Voters of South Carolina will also be on hand to answer questions about the program in an informal, hike-and-talk format.

Please come out for this special afternoon on one of Spartanburg's favorite natural treasures.
