What if nature had the same rights as humans?
Sovereign Nature – is an exhibition showcasing the symbiotic future of nature and technology.
Nine artists and researcher groups from all over the world will present you their visions about the combination of ecology, economics, and machine learning to provide a future of abundance and give nature the tools to govern itself.
Sovereign Nature is an emerging field operating at the intersection of ecology, economy, and artificial intelligence. Whilst Trent Mcconaghy’s article - the initial codification of ‘Nature 2.0’ as a technological focal point - focused on works such as Plantoid and terra0, we wish to provide a space to exhibit some of the numerous other projects that are operating within similar areas and have much to bring to this ongoing discussion.
These different works will be organized and exhibited by topic: those engaging with the current ecological situation(1), those discussing artificial intelligence in relation to ecologies(2), and projects that show a vision for new organizational forms(3).
⚬ 1. Collapse
Seemingly inevitable threats of natural and economic stemming from global warming
⚬ 2. Otherness
Showcases the connection points between natural and artificial systems to blur the borders between machine, natural systems, and humans.
⚬ 3. P2P Ecology
Highlights projects that engage with technologies that allow us to rethink existing and ineffective nature governance and regulatory structures.
