Target Audiences:

Behavioral Health Providers, Nurse Practitioners, & Nurses

 

Objectives:

1)  Understand the principles behind the Code of Ethics
2)  Understand the nature of the counseling relationship and corresponding ethical obligations
3)  Understand your ethical responsibility relating to peers and society
4)  Understand that the goal of treatment services is to nurture and support the development of a relationship of equals of individuals to ensure protection and fairness of all parties
5)  Understand the professional recognizes the need for ongoing education as a component of professional competency and development
6)  Uphold the legal and ethical standards of the profession by being fully cognizant of all federal and state laws that govern your practice
7)  Demonstrate objectivity and integrity and maintain the highest standards in the services provided
 

Continuing Education:

No partial credit offered.


Behavioral Health Providers:
6 ETHICS contact hours of continuing education have been approved by the Licensed Professional Counselors Association (LPCA CE Approval #8405-19). No partial credit offered.

Nurses:
 
The Georgia Board of Nursing deems Southwest Georgia Area Health Education Center (SOWEGA-AHEC) as an approved provider for continuing education (CE). This CE activity awards 6.0 hour towards the continuing education competency requirement for Georgia Licensure renewal. No partial credit offered. Activity #2019-05.

 

 Continuing Education Requirement:

(1)  Receipt of completed registration information.
(2)  Attendance at entire event.
(3)  Completion and submission of evaluation.
