Description

Deep Fried Studios, in partnership with the SouthSounds Music & Arts Festival, will convene the first-ever “SouthSounds Podcast LIVE” on April 9, 2016. Top podcasters will gather to perform live versions of local and regional podcast shows to expose festival goers to the dynamic podcast medium and to educate how to get started creating a podcast.

SouthSounds Music & Art Festival founders wanted to add a new entertainment and technology element to this year’s festival. With the help of Deep Fried Studios, SouthSounds is bringing together a wide range of talent and experience working in local audio, digital media and broadcasting. “Podcast LIVE” will be a performance of dynamic, live radio-like shows.

Led by Stacy Wellborn (Co-host of Fan of Podcast podcast & Manager of Deep Fried Studios), Podcast Live participants will entertain the crowd with live renditions of internet broadcasts that they produce weekly. Special guests include local radio legend Uncle Henry Pennington and Periscope sensation, Sock Cop (Jason Cooper). SouthSounds has created an event to expose the Gulf Coast to the dynamic and growing entertainment medium of podcasting.
