Southport Business Group was established in early 2022, when a small independent coffee shop in the town became a hotspot for local business owners and entrepreneurs to work remotely. As numbers increased, it made sense to organise regular events that were designed to bring together new and established businesses from the town together, in a bid to help each other and encourage the 'support local message'.
Fast forward to 2025, the group welcomes around 30-40 business owners each month, whilst remaining free of charge - no franchise, no monthly subs, just a genuine community of businesses looking to grow through word of mouth and referrals. More importantly, our meetings are the perfect place to build honest relationships without the hard sell.
Our 'core' monthly meeting is available to all and involves open networking from 6pm, on the last Wednesday of every month. From around 6.30pm, we hold a formal meeting where each member presents a 60 second pitch designed to raise awareness of their business within the group and update others on recent work. We end the meeting with a guest speaker each month before heading back to open networking.
