The Augusta Museum of History is brewing up a second year of Southern Suds: Come for the Beer, Stay for the History. Enjoy lectures on brewing, food, music, and a sampling of craft brews from around Augusta and Georgia.
This year, we're partnering with Riverwatch Brewery to bring you a limited-edition beer based on a historic recipe from an 1870s cookbook from the Museum's collection. It is a persimmon and wheat-based brew called Per Simma Down!, with a few ingredients that give it a 21st Century twist. The beer will be released during Southern Suds on October 21, 2016, from 6:30-9:00 p.m.
Also new this year, Brew Master (VIP) ticket holders will get to experience food and beer pairings provided by The Hive.
While enjoying food, drinks and sweets by Delightful Bites Cakery, music will be provided by DJ Matto, a favorite at Sky City and The Hive. Attend talks about beer/food pairings and home brewing in our Activity Center. Pub games will be available for guests to play throughout the evening: Cornhole, Giant Jenga, Pub Trivia, and table top games including Tic Tac Toe, Hangman, and peg games. End the night with a selfie by our very popular photo booth with fun props!
All ticket proceeds go to the Augusta Museum of History for preservation of collections and public programs.
