The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) is hosting this open house to introduce MDOT funding opportunities for bicycle and pedestrian projects and provide a forum for potential sponsors to discuss their projects and applications with grant program managers. The Southern Maryland Open house will be held on February 20, from 9:30am to 12:30pm at the MDOT SHA La Plata Shop, 5725 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646 and consist of a one-hour overview of the MDOT grant programs followed by an open session with stations set up for each grant program: Transportation Alternatives/Safe Routes to School, Recreational Trails, Bikeways, and Maryland Highway Safety Office grant programs. The open house will be most useful for eligible applicants to address questions and receive clarification regarding the application process, participants’ projects, MDOT grant management, and project implementation. Sponsors are encouraged to come with specific application and project questions in mind for the grant managers. Details on the above programs are also available on MDOT’s website.
