Join the Southern Appalachian Writers Co-op Fall Gathering for a great writers weekend at the Highlander Research and Education Center in New Market, Tennessee and the release of the new "Stay or Go" issue of Pine Mountain Sand & Gravel.

Since 1974 SAWC has come together every Autumn in the mountains. We have three "Read-Arounds" during the weekend where everyone has an opportunity to share their work with time for discussion. Much of the time is spent sharing and discussing our written work. We also make time to actually write, or hike, or simply take in the fall colors.

We encourage you bring your musical instruments and join in the fun and fellowship. As well, writers are encouraged to bring their books, chapbooks, CDs, DVDs and broadsides for sale or swap at the media table. We share meals, have free time to write, explore the woods, catch up with old friends and nurture new ones.

On Saturday evening we swarp and enjoy the annual Delbert Awards Ceremony, notoriously emceed by Jim Webb. Sunday morning we take care of business, making plans for readings, gatherings, and publications for the coming year.

Fees cover lodging and all meals (Friday dinner through Sunday breakfast). Coffee and tea are available all day in the dining room. everyone should bring their own refreshing adult beverages and a snack to share during the swarp.

Can't make the whole weekend? Join us for any part, one night, or simply for the day. All fees will be prorated (contact Scott at badbranch3@gmail.com for details).
